Sara-M Food Industries

Sara-M Food Industries – Bulgarian Company / Iraq Branch is a food manufacturing company specialized in the production, refining, and packaging of vegetable oils.

The company is the investor and operator of Imam Ali Al-Hadi (PBUH) Vegetable Oil Factory in Maysan Governorate, signed with the State Company for Food Products, one of the formations of the Iraqi Ministry of Industry and Minerals. Exporting Iraqi products and supplying Arab markets with production, as well as bringing foreign currency into the country. This is one of the pillars supporting the national economy.

Company Background

Parent Company – Bulgaria

Sara-M Food Industries was established in Sofia, Republic of Bulgaria in 1992. It is officially registered with the Bulgarian Commercial Register under No. (23995/1992) and operates in accordance with Bulgarian laws and regulations.

Iraq Branch

The Iraq branch was officially established and registered in 2018 under No. (5280) with the Iraqi Companies Registrar at the Ministry of Trade. The company is headquartered in Baghdad, Iraq, and operates according to the applicable laws and regulations of the Republic of Iraq.

Institutional Framework

The Ministry of Industry and Minerals is the governmental authority responsible for developing and implementing industrial policy in Iraq. Established in 1959, the Ministry supervises the public industrial sector and works to enhance its contribution to the national economy and sustainable industrial development.

The State Company for Food Products dates back to 1941, marking the foundation of governmental food industries in Iraq, particularly in vegetable oil production. It has undergone several restructuring phases and now operates as a public company under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, managing and operating state-owned food factories, including vegetable oil plants.
